Works with the tools you already use

Slide Barn is built around the PowerPoint format (.pptx), which is the standard export for every major presentation tool. If your app can export to PowerPoint, it works with Slide Barn.

Microsoft PowerPoint.pptx

Upload any .pptx file. Slide Barn indexes every slide, extracts all text, and generates searchable thumbnails.

Primary supported format
Google Slides.pptx export

Export your Google Slides deck as a .pptx file, then upload to Slide Barn. All text and layout is preserved.

Via PowerPoint export
Apple Keynote.pptx export

Export your Keynote presentation as a PowerPoint file, then upload. Keynote's native .key format is not yet supported directly.

Via PowerPoint export
Canva.pptx export

Download your Canva presentation as a .pptx and upload it to Slide Barn. Works well for simple layouts — complex Canva designs may not render identically.

FAQ

Common questions

What file types does Slide Barn support?
Slide Barn currently supports .pptx (PowerPoint Open XML) files. This covers presentations made in Microsoft PowerPoint, and exports from Google Slides, Apple Keynote, and Canva. We do not yet support legacy .ppt files, .key (Keynote native), or PDF.
How does slide search work?
When you upload a deck, Slide Barn extracts the full text from every slide — titles, body copy, and speaker notes — and indexes it for keyword search. We use both BM25 full-text search and semantic (AI) search so you can find slides by exact phrase or by meaning. Search results typically return in under a second.
Is Slide Barn a replacement for SharePoint or Google Drive?
Honestly, SharePoint and Google Drive are part of the problem. They are where decks go to get lost — buried in folders, saved with names like "final_v3_REAL.pptx", accessible only if you already know where to look. Slide Barn is what sits in front of that: it understands what is inside every deck, makes every slide searchable and reusable, and turns your presentation library into an active part of how your team builds and governs decks — not just a place things get saved and forgotten.
Does Slide Barn work with Microsoft Teams or Slack?
Not yet. Today Slide Barn is a standalone web app. Integrations with Teams, Slack, and other collaboration tools are on our roadmap. If a specific integration matters to your team, let us know when you apply — it helps us prioritize.
How many decks or slides can I upload?
Limits depend on your plan. We are currently in early access and working with teams directly to find the right fit — reach out and we will walk you through what makes sense for your library size.
Is my content private?
Yes. Each workspace is fully isolated. Your slides are only visible to members of your organization. We do not train any models on your content, and we do not share data between customers.
Can I export slides out of Slide Barn?
Yes. You can download the original deck files you uploaded — those are the source PowerPoint files, so every slide inside them is fully editable. You can also assemble a collection of individual slides and download that as a deck. Because we store your original files, nothing is flattened or converted — what you get back is what you put in.
What happens to my decks if I cancel?
You will have a window to download all your original files before your data is removed. We will never delete your content without warning.
